Back From Vacation, I Write About a Laker Victory

I know you missed me.
The holidays are busy. A full-time job, wife, two kids (3 1/2 & 7 months), kids birthday parties and black Friday shopping are all priorities this time of year. Sadly, the blog job that I do not get paid for gets knocked down the priority list. Sorry.
The Lakers have been horrible to watch as of late. I’ve written before in this space that it really does not matter.
While ESPN and the national media gets a woody over the play of the Spurs, Mavs and the resurrection of the south beach Three Amigos, I sit here calm, cool and collected waiting for May and June.
Of course, on Christmas day I am going to want the Lakers to win, but I am already prepared for them to lose. I can’t have the Lakers ruin my Christmas like they did last year getting blown out versus the Clelveland Lebrons.
There is this perception by casual Laker fans that Kobe is playing horrible and being a ball hog. Those are the games that get the most attention. For the month of December Mr. Bryant is shooting better than Kobe’s average of 48%, so everyone slow down.
The Lakers are currently seeded 3rd in the Western Conference. They won’t end up there. Manu Ginobli will eventually get hurt and the rest of the Spurs will slow down. Dallas is the epitome of fool’s gold, so if anyone is going to buy Mavs stocks, I’ll be sure to short against it.
I want to see Gasol’s minutes go down in the next few weeks. Let’s hope that happens. He’s put on plenty of miles over the last few years and I want plenty of tread for the title run.
