12-4. That is Deron Williams’ record against rival Chris Paul. Last night Paul got his 4th victory. Paul’s Hornets smashed the Jazz 100-71, with Utah manhandled on the boards 53-24!! Utah was one of the NBA’s highest scoring teams before last night’s game, the NBA’s 10th best scoring teams to be exact. Utah shot terribly. It was a travesty watching Utah shoot 35.8 % from the field. Paul finished with 11 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. It was David West who had the big night for the Hornets. West had 23 points and 8 rebounds. Deron Williams could only muster 10 points and 5 assists on 4-12 shooting and missed all five 3 point attempts. Jazz Paul Milsap had the best night of the starters, going 5 of 7 for 14 points and adding a team-high 6 rebounds. The Jazz fell to 18-9 after last night’s tragedy, putting Utah in 2nd place in the Division trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder by 1 game. Utah needs to get it together as they cant afford to fall farther down in the division!!
The next game for the Jazz is on the road as well, against Milwaukee Bucks . Milwaukee is trying to right their ship at 10-14. Brandon Jennings, Andrew Bogut and crew will be a tough test for the Jazz. We will surely find out what the 2010 Utah Jazz are made of tonight. I do think they will be up to the challenge and not let last night’s loss become the start of a slump.
What do you think of Deron Williams 12-4 record against Chris Paul? Will the Jazz rebound with a win tonight against the Bucks, or will they fall??
