Utah defiantly refuses to let an isolated loss turn into a losing streak. The Jazz rebounded from a horrible performance last night against the Hornets to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 95-86!! Deron Williams recorded his 14th double-double of the season with 22 points/11 assists. Raja Bell returned to the starting lineup and aside from Bell the rest of the Utah starters scored in double figures!! The Jazz displayed some muscle on the boards as well, with 46 rebounds to Milwaukee’s 31. Three Jazz players finished with 9 rebounds and double-digit points. Another barometer of Jazz success is production from CJ Miles - who poured in 16 points with 7 rebounds in 30 minutes of playing time. Usually when CJ plays badly, the Jazz lose.
Milwaukee was led by Andrew Bogut with 19 points and 9 boards. Brandon Jennings had a quiet night while getting the Bucks involved finishing with 6 points on 3-for-7 shooting. The win put the Jazz at 19-9 as they look forward to facing the Cleveland Cavaliers at home in Utah. The Jazz are only a half a game behind the Thunder, so the Cleveland game either pulls them ahead or slides them further back. Utah needs to play hard for 48 minutes and refuse to lose!! Mental lapses cause deficits and the struggle of playing from behind. Utah must maintain focus, which is the forte of Jerry Sloan. Coach Sloan makes sure the Jazz put the right foot forward EVERY game.
