The 4th Ranked Uconn Huskies haven’t played in almost 2 weeks, in that time a lot has happened. Uconn moved up to #4 in the polls, the Uconn Women are on the verge of breaking history tomorrow evening( The Women’s Team was in attendance).Uconn fans finally got to see Enosch Wolf, Wolf is a 7’1 freshman. During the lay-off he was enrolled and got the chance to practice with his new team, the added size was welcomed. Obviously you would expect a team to be rusty after 12 days off, Uconn did manage to get the win so that’s all that mattered. It wasn’t pretty by any means, Uconn started the game off working the boards and playing good defense, the problem was they couldn’t score. Kemba Walker changed that by igniting a 25-3 run, prior to that run Uconn was only up by 1 point. Coppin State fought back and closed the gap, they managed to get it down to 10. Uconn refused to give in as they held on to win 76-64. The Huskies have only 1 more Non-Conference game before the December 27th showdown with Pitt. It seems that Kemba has a new sidekick, or maybe even sidekicks. Kemba had 20 points, 5 rebounds, 3steals, and 4 assists. Jeremy Lamb had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists! Lamb is becoming more and more consistent every game, Lamb’s fellow freshman Roscoe Smith isn’t too far behind. Smith had 5 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. It seems weird that I’m mentioning Alex Oriahki(12 points and 7 rebounds) after the freshman, but that attests to their rising level of play. Wolf had 4 points and 1 rebounds in just 3 minutes of play. Uconn will definitely benefit from his presence as they begin conference play.
