Week 16 Preview: Ravens vs. Browns

We’re at the end of the season when every game matters despite the record. The Ravens need the win to have the possibility of winning the AFC North. The Browns want to win to spoil those chances and to improve their record.
Offense: Edge Ravens
The Ravens are starting to get back on track and focusing on running the football more. They’re mixing in the short passes with Ray Rice to get him in space. The Browns have one of the more surprising stories of the year with Peyton Hillis. He has 1,129 rushing yards on the season with 11 touchdowns. He’s a bruiser that fights for every yard. The Ravens won the last meeting, 24-17, but gave up 144 yards rushing to Hillis. The Ravens gain the edge because they have more playmakers then the Browns but, any good running game can jump start an offense.
Defense: Edge Ravens
The Ravens are ranked 10th in total defense. They need to start getting more pressure on the quarterback to create more mistakes. They only have 27 sacks on the season. Ed Reed gave them a jump start on defense when he returned but, that’s started to slowly fade away. The Browns have a great young corner in Joe Haden. He has five interceptions on the season. Overall, the Ravens have a better defense that stacks up with any in the league.
Special Teams: Edge Browns
The Browns have one of the best kickoff and punt returners in the game with Josh Cribbs. He can change any game with a blink of an eye. It’s not going to be a great match up by any means but keep an eye on how Sam Koch will punt the ball to Cribbs. He’s the best in the game with pinning the opposing team within their own 20 yard line.
Prediction: Ravens 23, Browns 13
The Ravens have too much ridding on this game to lose. If they lose one of the next two games, their chances of winning the AFC North is slim to none. The Browns are an improved football team. They seem to have their quarterback of the future with Colt McCoy. The Ravens will take advantage of the rookie under center and create a couple of turnovers to win this game.
