Happy Holidays Everyone. Here’s this week’s What It Means:
Tiger Woods Gets Cortisone Shot in Right Ankle: This is much ado about nothing — he’s practicing, shooting commercials, testing his video game, and getting ready for 2011. The ankle area is still sore from when he tore his Achilles in 2008 while rehabbing from the knee surgery, and this was just to help combat continuing soreness. This is a non-story in my mind and I expect big things out of Tiger in 2011.
Sirius-XM and the PGA Tour Coming to An Agreement to Continue the PGA Tour Network: For those who have been looking for golf on the radio, the PGA Tour Network on Sirius-XM has been their place to turn to in recent years, broadcasting upwards of 26 hours a week of live tournament coverage. The agreement between the Tour and Sirius was set to run out at years end but Steve Elling of CBSSports.com reports the two sides have come to an agreement that will continue the network.
If you’ve never listened to golf on radio, I highly recommend giving it a test drive at some point — you really got to hear it to believe it. This is a good development for golf because it continues to give fans an alternative outlet to follow their favorite players when they are not by a TV or computer.
Next week: My top 5 shots of the year.
