Patriots Bills Preview

The Patriots come into this game with a dominating 12-2 record. They got a scare last week from Matt Flynn and the Packers, but were able to prevail. This week the Patriots play a pretty bad Buffalo Bills team. The Bills do have some talent on the team, but their 4-10 record clearly doesn’t show that. The Bills did keep it somewhat close the last time they played the Patriots and put up 30 points. The Patriots did however put up 38 in that close win. This week, the Bills will face a much different Patriots team; one that plays very well together on the field; one that has no distractions; one that has the best record in football.

I do not see much of a problem for this Patriot team this week. The good thing to know is that the Patriots are actually playing for something this week. If they win this game, then they clinch home-field advantage for the playoffs. That would be a huge advantage for the Pats and that also means they will not go easy on the Bills.

The key to this game is actually not Tom Brady. It’s Benjarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead. The Bills have the worst run-defense in the league and if the Pats want to beat them up, which they will, they will run the ball. I am hoping to see 25-30 carries between the two backs. They should rack up some yards and scores on the ground and this will open up the passing game; if it is even necessary.

As for the defense, they slipped up a bit last week, but I definitely see them tightening their game this week. The only two factors to really worry about are RB Fred Jackson and WR Steve Johnson. If the Pats can keep these guys in check, they will not have any problem stopping the Bills offense.

This should be a pretty easy game for the Patriots. The Bills do not have a lot going for them and since the Patriots will want to clinch the top seed in the AFC they will be playing their hardest. Starters will be out there the whole game unless it becomes a blowout late in the game. I see the Patriots winning this one 28-10.
