Mizzou Beats Another Illinois School

Missouri Tigers basketball is loving playing against teams from Illinois.
In their 12 regular season wins, a quarter of them have come against a school from their eastern boarder.
The Tigers scored the first 17 points of the game to propel them to a 97-61 thumping of Northern Illinois. The victory marked the 100th win for head coach Mike Anderson during his reign in Columbia.
After the hot start the Tigers kept up the intensity to take a 57-17 into halftime. Junior guard Matt Pressey scored 13 of his career high 18 points in the first half. Pressey started for his second consecutive game, after he was in the starting five last Wednesday against Illinois instead of previously suspended Michael Dixon.
Missouri leading scorer Marcus Denmon lead all players with 24 points. The weather may have been cold outside Mizzou Arena, but Denmon was red-hot shooting 9-for-11 from the field including five three-pointers. Forwards Laurence Bowers, Ricardo Ratliffe and Justin Safford all finished the game in double digits.
The Tigers played great defense forcing the Huskies to shoot 32% from the field. Huskies guard Xavier Silas entered the game second in the country with 26.2 points per game. The Tigers shut down Silas, as the senior could only muster eight points and only made two field goals.
The Tigers now sit No. 10 in both polls with a 12-1 record. They put their 55 game non-conference home court winning streak on the line this Thursday against Old Dominion.
