Let me start out by apologizing for my lack of blogs I was out of the country and unable to get a proper internet connection in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. That being said I was able to hear and see a couple highlights of last weeks games, but more importantly was able to see in its entirety the game clincher against the Titans. With a 34-14 victory over Tennessee and a San Diego loss to the Bungles, the Kansas City Chiefs are AFC West Champions for the first time since 2003.
Matt Cassel just seem to be etting better and better with every week, he went 24/34 for 314 yards with three scores. However, he had a little help with the Chiefs newsest Pro Bowler Dwayne Bowe absolutely creating havoc int he defensive backfield. His catch and run for a score was that of a Hall of Famer. Not only was he able to catch the pass through traffic but he was able to break away from the pack with ease.
The two headed running attack of Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones has been a pillar of consistency this entire season and they were no different int he most important game of the season. they combined for 128 yards .
The defense was also able to step up in the biggest game of the season. They were able to hold in check one of the most elite tailbacks in the game to 58 yards on the ground.
The Chiefs are now 7-0 at the New Arrowhead, which is very beneficial when they are now awarded at least one home game. For Chief fans that is the greatest Christmas present they could ask for. The Chiefs will be looking onto the Oakland Raiders where they have a chance to go undefeated at home. Even thought the Chiefs are pretty steady in the playoff picture they will not let their foot off the gas as they will want to carry their momentum through and into the playoffs.
