The Patriots made things look real easy this Sunday with a dominating victory over the Buffalo Bills 34-3. After trailing 3-0, the Patriots took off and never looked back. The key to win this game with ease was to run the ball against the worst rush-defense in the league. Run they did; Benjarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead combined for 32 carries, 207 yards and 1 score. They both ran the ball very well and were the reason this game was such an easy one. The passing game was nothing special, but it didn’t have to be. Brady only completed 15 passes on 27 attempts. He did however throw for 3 scores, 2 of which going to his young TE Gronkowski. The only other factor in the game was the outstanding Patriots defense. They once again played lights out and only allowed 3 points. They forced 3 interceptions from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick who didn’t even complete 50% of his passes. The Pats defense also forced 4 fumbles, 2 from RB C.J. Spiller and 2 from Fitzpatrick. The Pats defense just looked spectacular and they need to start being recognized as one of the leagues’ best and potentially most dangerous.
This was supposed to an easy win for the Patriots and it was exactly that. The Patriots did what they wanted to coming into this game and that was to clinch the 1 seed in the AFC. Having the 1 seed, the Patriots will have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. This week they face the Miami Dolphins in a meaningless game.
