Blazers Top Jazz..Again

The Utah Jazz fell victim to the Portland Trailblazers for the second time this month, the Blazers beat the Jazz last night 100-89. I guess Wesley Matthews likes to remind the Jazz of what they are missing, Matthews scored a career high last night with 30 points. Matthews also had 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals!! Once again the Jazz fell down by as much as 19 this game, the Jazz only had the lead once, and that was by 1!! They just can’t seem to shake their slow starts, Utah was led by Deron Williams. Williams had 19 points and 8 assists, it also didn’t help matters as 3 players missed last night’s game. Kirilenko, Miles, and Okur didn’t play last night. What hurt the Jazz the most was their 18 turnovers, the Blazers only turned the ball over 9 times. LaMarcus Aldridge also made matters worse by going off for 27 points for Portland. The Jazz just weren’t able to recover, the next best Jazz player last night was Al Jefferson. Jefferson recorded another double-double, he finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Gordon Hayward got the start last night at small forward, he didn’t do as well as last game scoring 11 points. This loss puts the Jazz in a tie with the Thunder, both teams are 22-11. Up next for the Jazz are the Memphis Grizzlies, hopefully the Jazz will have the services of ┬áKirilenko and Miles. The Grizzlies have a pretty talented small forward in Rudy Gay, Gay is averaging 20 points and 6 rebounds a game. Hayward will surely have his hands full, the Jazz also have to beware of the battle on the boards. The Grizzlies have a pretty solid front line in Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, and Rudy Gay. Since the Jazz are tied with the Thunder, this game automatically becomes much more important. The Jazz can’t afford to fall behind the Thunder, especially when Utah isn’t fully healthy. They need to do their best to keep things afloat until they are fully healthy. To help the Jazz, the game against Memphis will be a home game!
