The New York Islanders recalled goaltender Kevin Poulin from Bridgeport of the AHL today. Poulin was recalled as a precaution after Rick DiPietro was forced to leave last night’s game against the Flames in Calgary with a groin injury.
The 20 year old Poulin was the Isles 5th-round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He has a 2.13 GAA and .931 save percentage in 14 AHL games this season with the Sound Tigers.
