The Jazz just don’t get it, no matter how hard you play AFTER the 1st quarter doesn’t really matter. There are 4 quarters in a game and Utah routinely shows up for only 3 of them, none of those 3 are ever the FIRST quarter. At the end of every blog entry/game recap I point out what the Jazz need to watch out for and they let EXACTLY what I am wary of happen!! Utah went into Memphis tonight and got hammered by Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph, Gay & Randolph led the Grizzlies by the Jazz 110-99. Gay finished with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals! Randolph finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds, the worst part about this was that the Jazz were pretty healthy this game. The only Utah player who didn’t play was Memeht Okur, Paul Milsap was back in the starting lineup after missing last game. Utah’s un-doing was their turnovers, they turned the ball over 23 TIMES!! Deron Williams had another 5 turnover game, Williams also had 19 points and 6 assists. Al Jefferson did produce for the Jazz, Jefferson finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Jefferson also swatted 5 shots, Milsap had 20 points on 7-17 shooting. Andrei Kirilenko and Raja Bell struggled as well, CJ Miles had a bad game off the bench as Earl Watson carried the second unit with 12 points. The Jazz have lost 2 games in a row for just the second time all season, the first time being the 0-2 start to the season. Utah’s road trip continues tomorrow night in Houston, after this defeat the Jazz fall to 24-13. Utah is now tied with the Thunder for 1st place in the division, Utah needs to lock down tomorrow night in Houston. Kevin Martin had a 45 point effort a couple nights ago, Luis Scola is a problem in the paint. Utah CAN’T let this slide turn into 3 games, they have to put a stop to it!!
