The Diamondbacks agreed to terms with journeyman infielder Cody Ransom. The 34 year-old native of Mesa, AZ will compete for a spot on the Arizona opening day roster. The terms of the contract were undisclosed. Ransom was a member of the 2009 New York Yankees World Championship club appearing in 31 games. The Chandler High School graduate has played in parts of eight seasons with San Francisco, Houston, New York, and Philadelphia. Ransom has compiled a lifetime .227 batting average over 219 games in the Major Leagues.
