Celtics Stifle Williams, Jazz

It’s official, the Jazz have just lost a season-high 3 games in a row. Utah got beat wire to wire by the Boston Celtics tonight, Boston won going away 110-86!! Of the teams in this 3 game loosing streak, the only team with a winning record that Utah played was the Celtics. Boston shut down Utah by cutting off it’s head, that being Deron Williams. Williams was in foul trouble and he only took 4 field goal attempts on the evening, Williams finished with 5 points and 6 assists. The rest of the Jazz didn’t fare too much better as Earl Watson led the team in scoring with 12 points, Al Jefferson had a terrible night going 1 of 11 from the field. Utah’s bench outscored it’s starters!! Boston was led by Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, the Jazz just couldn’t get anything going offensively. ¬†You would think they got out-rebounded in this contest, in fact both teams had 34 rebounds. Once again Utah played terrible defense, they allowed the Celtics to shoot 55.2 from the field!! It is impossible to win when you allow the other team to get easy looks. Utah’s record has suffered during this slide, they are now 27-16 and 12-9 on the road. They have yet to win on this road trip, they play again tomorrow against the Philadelphia 76ers. The only thing that is saving the Jazz in terms of their place in their division, the Thunder are in a 2 game slide and are only leading the Jazz by a half game. The 76ers are 17-25 on the year, Utah couldn’t have asked for better opponents going into this trip. Once again out of these 4 games, only the Celtics are above .500. Utah has really messed up an opportunity to have gained serious ground on the Thunder in the division. The Thunder have had to play much tougher opponents in the last 3 games, Utah needs to get their act together before they slide further down in the standings. Going into tonight, the Jazz only have a 2.5 game lead on the 3rd place Nuggets.
