OK, so I jumped the gun with my first post on PSB. I had Vlad Guerrero in an O’s cap Saturday morning. Now it’s Tuesday, the deal isn’t done, and it’s hard to figure out anything having to do with Guerrero.
I should have known. I based my piece on information that came from Jim Bowden. The article I referenced had been written by Brittany Ghiroli on MLB.com (the original piece has actually been taken down). That wasn’t the problem though. The problem was that poor Brittany based her article on “breaking news” supplied by the notorious creep-show, Jim Bowden.
Had I known that Bowden was the source for this “news”, I never would have relayed it.
Besides my baseball insiders, who have told me first-hand accounts of his douchebaggery, he’s been involved in a number of sketchy and illegal incidents….
In one of the most disgraceful things I’ve ever heard, Bowden has been “accused” of skimming bonus money from Dominican players. His cronies even went so far as to make up a player that didn’t even exist.
Skimming money is bad. Skimming money from Dominican kids and their families is shameful.
First, I’m hoping he serves time. Second, I’m hoping it could happen in the country where the crimes took place.
Bowden’s character can be summed up by this quote from a baseball executive….
“If they got all his enemies together, they’d have to rent Yankee Stadium.”
