The Jazz did “IT” again, they went down early and got back into the game with yet another furious rally only to fall short at the end. The San Antonio Spurs weathered the Jazz rally to win 112-105, the Spurs win pushed the Jazz loosing streak to 6 games. The Spurs were led by their backcourt, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili combined for 49 points. Parker finished with 23 points and 6 assists, Manu had 26 points with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Compare that with Utah’s backcourt and you see the problem, Utah’s backcourt combined for 39 points. That was with one of them not scoring at all!! Deron Williams tried to beat the Spurs BY HIMSELF, he would have succeeded with more help. D-Will had 39 points, 4 rebounds, and 9 assists. Williams had 17 points in the 4th quarter, Al Jefferson was the only other Jazz player to score at least 20 points. Big Al had 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks. You can’t win with just 2 players when playing the Spurs, it’s not nearly enough. Paul Milsap was in foul trouble so he was only able to contribute 8 points, Raja Bell played 34 minutes and didn’t score AT ALL. CJ Miles did help by scoring 13 points to lead all players who came off the bench. Utah didn’t win a quarter until the 4th, but by then of course it was too late. Utah has now fallen to 27-19, that now puts them in 3rd place in the division. The Denver Nuggets are now in 2nd place with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 1st place, Utah is 2.5 games behind the Thunder and .5 game back of the Nuggets. Utah’s next game is Friday, they host the Minnesota Timberwolves. Hopefully the Jazz can get back on track before this season passes them by, you can’t fall too far behind in the Western Conference and expect to get back in the race.
