Pathetic. Disgusting. Embarrassing. Unforgivable. Just some words that come to mind after another collapse by the Sixers at the end of the game. The Sixers led by as much as 21 points and 16 going into the 4th quarter, before giving away the game to a very mediocre Memphis Grizzlies team.
They were outscored 42 to 21 in the 4th and turned the ball over 12 times in that quarter. There is not one person that deserves the blame in this, everybody does.
Iguodala and Meeks were the only two players in the 4th that weren’t a travesty. Doug Collins was a big part of this loss as he refused to call a timeout while Memphis was going on their run, and their zone defense was confusing the Sixers. The coach needs to address how to beat a zone before the lead goes from 16 to 2.
In the end, the turnovers were really the reason why they lost. They panicked because they have lost like this so many times before. It is really hard to overcome these type of losses. This is the 5th time or so that they have choked up a game at the end. What once was a promising season, now looks like it is going down the drain.
