Just a few days after the 76ers imploded against Memphis and lost yet another heartbreaking game, they somehow comeback with a big win versus the Nuggets.
You have to give the Sixers credit for their resiliency because time and time again they keep having these devastating losses but time and time again they bounce right back. The Nuggets were coming in this game playing very well, and it would have been easy for the 76ers to just roll over. Instead, they played some inspired defense, along with Andre Iguodala’s best game of the season, 24 points 7 assists and 4 steals. Not only was he great on the offensive end but he put the D on a lackluster Carmelo Anthony who looked to give up pretty early after struggling. These are the type of games Sixers fans are used to from Iggy and the one’s they will miss if he is traded. I’m usually very negative on Andre but he really is one of the top defensive players in NBA and would certainly be a great addition for any contender, just as long as they don’t rely on him for scoring
Thad Young, Evan Turner, and Lou Williams were great again off the bench, as the trend continued of the Sixers bench dominating the other teams bench. Young had 21 and 7 while Williams contributed 12.
Turner is starting to string a few good games in a row now, he had 11 points 8 rebounds and 6 assists, to go along with zero turnovers. If only Turner could shoot, he has a real chance to be a good player. Perhaps by the end of the off season he can improve his jump shot to become reliable, because the passing and rebounding instincts he already has down. His intangibles are there, but now he has to put in the work to make himself a better scorer.
