The Miami Heat have started another winning streak.  Sure, it’s only three games so far, but that is how it starts.  The Heat pounded the Cavaliers 117-90 just one day after rallying to beat the Thunder in Oklahoma City on Sunday afternoon.  More important than the three straight victories, however, is Miami having all of the “Big Three” healthy and playing together.  The Heat looked very formidable on Monday night.  In fact, other than a five minute stretch in the second quarter, it was one of the best all-around games for this team.  Yes, I know that Cleveland has the worst record in the NBA, but there are still a lot of good things to take away from this game.

Once again, Dwyane Wade started off the game on fire.  He had 26 points on 11/14 shooting by HALFTIME!!!  By the end of the game, Wade had dropped a game-high 34 points on the Cavaliers.  The team played very well offensively as they shot 49% from the floor for the game.  Maybe the biggest surprise when looking at the box score is seeing that Miami had six different players score in double-figures.  Mike Miller continues to look more and more comfortable in the rotation.  He quietly had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.  The player who contributed the most however, besides DWade, was Zydrunas Ilgauskas.  Big Z had 12 points and 14 rebounds, including 9 offensive boards.  When the Heat can dominate on the glass, it will spell trouble for any NBA team.

Overall, it’s hard to get too excited about beating down the Cavs for the third time this year, but as LeBron James reminded us in the post-game interview, the Heat gets everybodies best game.  Cleveland, of course, has plenty of extra motivation every time they play against LBJ, their former teammate.  On this night, they actually made Miami fans nervous when they rallied from a 19 point deficit to make it a 3 point game in the third quarter.  After that, the Heat pulled away steadily and won the contest by 27 points.  Next up on the Menu, the Orlando Magic will play host to Miami on Thursday night.  This will be the third meeting between these two teams this year.  Each team has won on their home floor.  If the Heat want to capture a tough road win against Dwight Howard and company, they will need another strong effort as a team.
