The Utah Jazz are now 1-1 without Deron Williams this season, last night they fell to the Golden State Warriors 96-81. The Jazz were without Williams and Mehmet Okur in last night’s contest, Utah fell to 12-12 on the road after the loss. Golden State was led by Stephen Curry who had 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists. The Warriors snapped a 4 game loosing streak by beating the Jazz, Monta Ellis had a HORRIBLE shooting night. Ellis went 1-9 from the field for just 2 points. Utah was led by Al Jefferson with his 16 points and 14 rebounds, Andrei Kirilenko helped by adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. As is always the story, the Jazz fell behind early and failed to rally. They were down by as many as 19 in this game, Utah only had the lead once and that was by just 2 points. Utah isn’t the same without D-Will, they need him to come back as soon as possible. Earl Watson has done a decent job filling in but he’s not an All-Star caliber player. Williams ability to “take-over” a possession or game is definitely fixed, the good part for the Jazz is that both teams ahead of them in the division lost yesterday as well. Utah is now 28-20 on the year, that still leaves them in 3rd place. Utah returns home to play the Charlotte Bobcats tonight. As for D-Will’s wrist, all we know is that it’s hyper-extended and they are waiting for the MRI to come back. Williams is a pretty tough player, he does a very good job of playing through any minor injuries he has had in the past. Just watching him sitting on the bench in plain-clothes you see how much it hurts him to watch. Utah needs to win tonight to take advantage of the opportunity they lost last night, had they won they would have gained a game on both the Nuggets and the Thunder!!
