Holiday’s Triple Double Leads 76ers Comfortably By Nets

The first of many, at least that is what Sixers fans are hoping. Jrue Holiday, only 20 years old, picked up the first triple-double of his career with 11 points 11 assists and 10 rebounds. It wasn’t just about Jrue tonight however, it was a total team effort. The Sixers cruised by the Nets 106-92, thanks to everyone.

Lou Williams had 26 off the bench, while the starters had their best effort of the season. Brand had another double-double, Iguodala had 16, Meeks added 15 and Hawes did a solid job on the glass with 12 rebounds.

This game never seemed to be in doubt once the haft time whistle blew. They controlled the entire game and continued their hot streak. If it wasn’t for the total collapse against Memphis they could be on a 7 game win streak and be right behind the Knicks who they have a home and home with this weekend.

It was good to see Jrue have a great game, a day after he was invited to play for the Soph0more team in the Rookie Sophomore challenge. However, Turner struggled tonight and despite his recent play wasn’t invited to the Rookie team, which is kind of upsetting.

The aforementioned home and home with the Knicks are two of the biggest game of the season because of the implications. If the Sixers lose both they are nothing more than a 7 and 8 seed in the East, but if they can split or take both the Sixers will show that they are the contenders I hoped them to be and could move up to a 6 seed.
