After a whirl wind tour of a few NFL teams and cities including Minnesota, Chicago, New England, Buffalo, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh the CFL’s leading receiver and Most Outstanding Canadian Andy Fantuz has agreed to a contract with the Chicago Bears.
Fantuz had 87 catches for 1380 yards and six touchdowns last year for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and his production will certainly be missed by Rider Nation.
It will be interesting to see if Andy has the pure speed for the NFL game. While he is 6’4″ and 220 pounds with very good hands there are not too many corners that he’ll be outrunning. But I could see him as a third wide receiver in a passing down situation who can be reliable to make the catch and skilled enough to make a play.
Good Luck in Chicago Andy!
