Tigers Get Back On Track

After a two game loosing slide, the revenge minded Tigers got back to winning ways with an 89-73 victory over Colorado.
Coach Mike Anderson sent out a new look starting lineup that included Laurence Bowers, Ricardo Ratliffe, Matt Pressey, Phil Pressey and Marcus Denmon. However, the player of the night was Kim English, who made the most of his reserve roll with 21 points. English, along with fellow reserve Michael Dixon (13 points), were the catalysts to an 18-4 Tigers run late in the first half. The run was capped off by a great steal and pass by Phil Pressey to Dixon who finished with the layup, which sent Mizzou Arena into a frenzy.
In the second half, the Buffaloes overcame a 22 points deficit to cut the lead to 10 points with 11 minutes left. Alec Burks rejuvenated the Buffaloes to get back into the contest, but the Buffaloes could never draw closer. Burks, a Missouri native, was contained to 21 points, after his 36 point outing when the Buffaloes defeated the Tigers on January 8 in Boulder.
The Tigers (18-5, 44 Big 12) can’t dwell too much on this victory, but can certainly use it to their advantage into the next game. Tomorrow night the team will be playing at Kansas, who are ranked No. 2 in the country.
