The Oklahoma City Thunder weren’t about to let the Jazz gain any ground in the division, the Thunder beat the Jazz 121-105. Russell Westbrook scored 33 points and dished out 10 assists in the victory, Kevin Durant chipped in with 21 points. Utah jumped out to the early lead in the first quarter, but the Thunder stormed back in the second quarter outscoring the Jazz 35-20. Paul Milsap led Utah with 34 points and 10 rebounds, Deron Williams had a second consecutive double-double. D-Will had 14 points and 11 assists, but he struggled from the field shooting 6 of 15. The Thunder scored 35 in the 2nd quarter and 30 in the 3rd quarter to gain control of the game, from than it was just them trying to hold on as the Jazz attempted to rally. The Thunder and the Jazz shot well from the field, the difference was from behind the 3 point line. OKC shot 61.9 % from 3 point land to Utah’s 16.7%, Utah was terrible from beyond the arch. ¬†The Thunder on the other hand hit 13 three pointers!! Al Jefferson had 21 points and 8 rebounds, Raja Bell scored 14 for the Jazz and the bench struggled mightily. Super Sub CJ Miles only had 6 points on 2 of 11 shooting, ¬†every other bench player only scored 2 points. The Nuggets won tonight as well, so Utah is now back in 3rd place in the division. Utah is now 4 games back of the Thunder and a half game back of the Nuggets. Utah’s next game is Monday in Sacramento against the Kings. Utah needs to gain ground on both the Nuggets and the Thunder, it’s the Western Conference so just having a winning record isn’t nearly enough!!
