Sixers Put 34 Point Beating On Hawks

Coming in, it was one of the ” we owe them” games. One of the many games the Sixers blew at the end. Last time they were outscored by 18 in the final 5 min and lost by 5. This time it would be different.

The Sixers got up big to start and DIDN’T let that lead slip away. Another total team effort, and on the opposite side, a lack of effort. The Hawks who had recently passed Orlando to move into 4th place in the East, did not look, from the very beginning, to be interested in this game. The lack of crowd and lack of enthusiasm turned out to be disastrous for the Hawks. Anytime you lose at home by 30+ points its pathetic.

There were 6 Sixers who scored in double figures, and the two hometown boys, Jodie Meeks and Lou Williams had excellent games. Evan Turner and Andre Iguodala turned in solid all around games, while Brand and Holiday could have each scored 30 if they needed the playing time.

One of the best games the Sixers played all year, and especially against a top tier team. They play Orlando tomorrow at home, another team the Sixers “owe” after giving up a 4 point play to tie the game in the final seconds before losing in overtime. This Sixers team is playing the best basketball the city has seen in a while, and especially impressive with such young players, let’s see if they can keep it up.
