Okay. Things were a little dicey during the first third of the game last night versus the Celtics. The Lakers appeared uninterested in playing anything that would be remotely called defense and they appeared lazy on the offensive end. Laker bigs were settling for too many shots outside of the paint and Kobe appeared to let be in “I’m going to let the game come to me” mode.
The Celtics pushed to a 15 point lead in the 2nd quarter aided by Ray Allen’s record breaking 3 pointer, pushing him past the Pacers’ Reggie Miller for the all-time NBA 3 point shots made mark.
A quick 10-0 run got the Lakers back in the game and then in the 3rd and 4th quarter it was Kobe time.
After sitting a full 7 minutes of the 4th quarter, Kobe came off the bench and scored 6 straight points to propel the Lakers to a 92-86 victory.
So relax, Laker fans. When the Lakers are interested, committed, focused, they are still tough to beat and one of the favorites for the Larry O’Brien trophy.
