Channing Frye had a terrible game last time these two teams met, it was only a few days ago. The Suns got the win, but Frye didn’t really do anything to contribute to the cause. That wasn’t the case this time as Frye’s hot shooting carried the Suns to a narrow victory over the Jazz. Phoenix beat Utah 102-101, Frye has a career high 31 points to go with 11 rebounds as the Suns beat the Jazz in Utah and now in Arizona. Al Jefferson did the heavy lifting for the Jazz, Big Al had 32 points and 10 rebounds. Deron Williams was a non-factor this evening, he had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds but he struggled mightily from the field. D-Will shot 2 for 11 on the evening, to make matters worse he also turned the ball over 6 times. Steve Nash struggled a little bit as far as shooting, but he still finished with 20 points and 14 assists. Just so you get an idea as to how hot Frye was, he hit 6 of his 10 three point attempts!! Utah was a bit short handed as well, they were without Raja Bell and Andrei Kirilenko. They also were without Ronnie Price and Memeht Okur, that left their bench mob a bit depleted as CJ Miles and Gordon Hayward had to start. Utah was only able to generate 17 points from their bench, Miles did have 19 points. Hayward the rookie small forward, had 9 points and 8 rebounds in his opportunity to start. Utah is now 31-25, they are win-less in the post Sloan era!! Their next game is against Monta Ellis and the Golden State Warriors, Utah needs this game so they don’t fall too far in the standings. They are now tied with the Denver Nuggets for 3rd in the division, hopefully they can get a win to get back on track!!
