According to sources, there’s a group interested in buying the Stars and it is believed that all parties involved, including the NHL, have agreed on a price for the team.
It’s looked positive before, only to have things go south. So don’t consider this a done deal just yet but it is a positive sign. A deal at least in place before the trade deadline won’t mean the Stars can go on a shopping spree, but it could potentially secure Brad Richards and give Joe Nieuwendyk a little more flexibility if there were moves to be made.
Now maybe this is just a coincidence, but Norm Green, the man who originally moved the Stars to Dallas from Minnesota, is traveling with the team. He and Joe had dinner Monday night and sat together in the press box during Tuesday’s game in Edmonton.
Take it for what it’s worth for now.
