First Sloan, Now Williams

Posted By Wilson Tarpeh Jr. On Feb 23 2011 @ 11:30 am In Utah Jazz | No Comments

Deron Williams is going to be traded, so I doubt if he will be available to play tonight. Williams has been acquired by the New Jersey Nets for Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, and 2 First Round Picks. I found this out about 20 minutes ago on twitter before some other media outlets made it known as well, it should be a done deal in a couple of hours. I am still in shock that the Utah Jazz have lost their Coach and All-Star Point Guard in the same season!! Tonight I should have more as to what to expect with the new additions and how that impacts this season’s goals. I guess Utah looked at the Carmelo situation and realized that they didn’t want to go through that in 2 years, so they got something for Williams now. Devin Harris is a proven PG in this league when healthy and Derrick Favors should be a big piece to build around. My only question is as to how the addition of Favors impacts Milsap and Jefferson, I think Faovrs would be more apt to play the 4 because Jefferson is bigger. Favors is around 6’11 250 pounds, so does that mean Milsap’s minutes go down in the future?? Those 2 first round picks will certainly help, especially if they are for THIS year.  I apologize for the shortened column, but I will have more later. Especially when the details to this deal are made known, this has been an exciting week in terms of trades. The crazy thing is there’s still 1 more day left before the deadline, what ELSE can happen??
