The invite list has been out for awhile but here’s a friendly reminder of the upcoming NFL Combine that begins on Feb. 24 through March 1.
For your viewing pleasure, the NFL Network will be broadcasting 30 hours of the Combine with their ridiculous amount of too many tv personalities and experts.
Along with nine Ohio State players leading the Big Ten with invites to the Combine, Iowa also had nine invitees (two more than in 2010) and they include Christian Ballard, Adrian Clayborn, Ryan Donahue, Jeremiah Hunter, Karl Klug, Allen Reisner, Tyler Sash, Ricky Stanzi and Julian Vandervelde.
Who’s missing from the invite list
? Safety Brett Greenwood, fullback Brett Morse and ex-team member, wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianous. This isn’t a dealbreaker for the three as they can still perform for scouts at Iowa’s Pro Day.
In advance of the upcoming Combine, there’s been some positive press about the draft-bound Hawkeyes.
After a solid appearance at the Senior Bowl (questions about his arm strength remain), quarterback Ricky Stanzi’s name is still a part of the conversation. He’s been working out with Tom Brady’s coach
and is included in a National Football Post article about the best quarterbacks prospects
for the 2011 draft.
Adrian Clayborn has been all over the news, really since the beginning of the 2010 season. He is projected to go around the end of the first round even though his production dropped off this season. He’s been cited as a potential prospect for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
, where he’ll join fellow Hawkeye Aaron Kampman, or the Green Bay Packers. As a diehard Bears fan, I don’t want to see him in Green Bay.
Earlier today, Clayborn was interviewed by Joe Florio of Pro Football Talk. I jumped on too late and missed the interview, but here’s a link to the show
. The interview should be online.
And also today, Tyler Sash was tooting his own horn on Twitter about the Combine. He’ll be working out with his fellow safeties on March 1
. It will be televised on the NFL Network.
Good luck in Indy! Check back here over the next few days for updates.
