76ers Over .500 for First Time in Two Years

With back to back wins over Detroit and the lowly Cavaliers the Sixers are now over .500 for the first time in a long time. They haven’t been over .500 this late in the season since the 05-06 season. Sixer fans rejoice.
Now only a half game behind the new look Knicks for 6th place in the East, the Sixers have become a team to fear. They don’t have any one player to sweat about, but the combination of everyone can hurt you.
Andre Iguodala had a horrible night shooting 2-10 but the Sixers still came away with the victory thanks to the bench and a couple starters. Holiday and Meeks were excellent in the 4th quarter, which the Sixers blew a big lead but ended up holding the Cavs off thanks to those two.
I was feeling another collapse with the Sixers up 7, and Iguodala missing a fast break dunk leading to a basket to cut the lead to 5. Not Again. Not again is right, because Jrue hit a tough runner in the lane to put them up for good, before he and Meeks iced the game with free throws.
Brand was solid again, even after leaving the game with a dislocated finger. Coach Collins should be up with Thibodeu and Popovich for Coach of the Year honors, and if the Sixers catch the Knicks for 6th place might deserve to win it.
Their next game is at home vs the very good Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. In the past this would be an easy L on the schedule, but the Sixers have been one of the best home teams in the NBA and especially if you discount the horrible start.
