Big Run Propels Nebraska

The Tigers last trip to Lincoln ended in a disappointing goodbye.
Nebraska used a 17-2 run in the second half to separate themselves from Missouri in a 69-58 win. The Cornhuskers prevailed in an injury-plagued contest where each team gave the ball up 17 times.
The first half was evenly matched and difficult to watch, as both team struggled to score and were sloppy with the ball. The home team brought a 27-25 lead into the locker room.
The second half looked like it would be promising for the Tigers as Marcus Denmon (19 points) scored eight quick points. However, the Cornhuskers got on track to go on the big run and leave the deficit too big for the Tigers to overcome.
Nebraska was keyed all game by Lance Jeter. The senior, playing in his last home game, scored 16 points and dished out seven assists. Jorge Brian Diaz netted 14 points and Toney McCray added 13.
Other than Denmon, Michael Dixon turned in a solid effort with 13 points off the bench. Kim English struggled from the field again, shooting 1-for-9 from the field and only scored four points.
The Tigers now more need to rebound and prepare for the biggest game on their home schedule. The No. 2 Kansas Jayhawks come town in a game that could potentially rebuild the Tigers confidence with a victory. Tip-off is at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
