I’m sure most Jazz fans thought that a home game against the Sacramento Kings wouldn’t be too much trouble, the Kings had other ideas as they fought the Jazz tooth and nail! The game went into overtime before the Jazz were able to pull away. Kings Rookie DeMarcus Cousins showed a glimpse of his enormous talent tonight by posting a ridiculous stat line. Cousins had 18 points, 18 boards, 7 dimes, 2 steals, and 3 blocks!! The Kings only downfall was that Cousins and friends didn’t have an answer for Al Jefferson, Big Al had 27 points on 13 of 25 shooting. Jefferson also had 7 boards, 4 dimes and 2 blocks. Every Jazz starter scored in double figures, yet the Kings out-rebounded the Jazz 50 to 47. Raja Bell(16 points) played a huge part in this game, Bell hit 2 clutch jumpers and had a steal down the stretch for the Jazz to pull away. Devin Harris had another good game running the offense, he has looked like he has picked it up pretty well and is becoming a good facilitator. Harris had a solid game with 14 points, 7 dimes, 5 boards, and 3 steals. Paul Milsap had 12 points, 7 boards, and 4 blocks before going out with an injury, Milsap only played 21 minutes. This was a much needed win for the Jazz, Utah’s record is now 33-30 and they have a chance to get some momentum going. They are still in 4th place in their division, but they are only 6.5 games out of 1st place. If they were to get on a roll, who knows what could happen?? Utah’s next game will be at Madison Square Garden to play the New York Knicks on Monday night. The Knicks are going through some injury issues much like the Jazz, hopefully the Jazz can win that game as well.
