It’s Time to Start Bull-ieving…

Posted By James Sweeney On Mar 8 2011 @ 12:15 pm In Chicago Bulls | 5 Comments

The Bulls hosted a New Orleans Hornets team Monday night that was without their star Chris Paul. Immediately, all outsiders say, “This is an easy win.” But, as every player and coach will say, there is no easy win in the NBA. The Hornets came out and played tough against a laid-back Bulls squad. But in the end, talent took over. This Bulls team simply has too much talent and too good of defense to lose to mediocre teams, especially at the United Center.  MVP candidate Derrick Rose finished with 24 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds, and even got 2 blocks. He is turning into such a complete player right before our eyes. When NOLA tied it up towards the end of the 4th quarter at 77-77, the Bulls called a timeout and Rose told his team that they will not lose this game. The Hornets were held scoreless the rest of the game, and the Bulls held on to win by a score of 85-77.

It seemed like for most of this game, the Bulls were having a bit of a hangover from the emotional victory over the Heat on Sunday, rightfully so. The Bulls put their heart and soul into that game and ended up with a season sweep of the “Talent of South Beach.” The Bulls have now taken out every team in the NBA, with the exception of those pesky Hawks that they should have beaten last week had they not melted down in the 2nd half. If you are not a believer of this young, yet very mature Chicago Bulls team yet…then what will it take? The Bulls have all the credentials of a championship team now. They say defense wins championships, and the Bulls have one of the best, if not the best defense in the NBA. The Bulls have a star in Rose, who has that dog in him to consistently win. They have the perimeter shooting, they have the athleticism, and they have the veteran presence. This Bulls team has it all, and they don’t care who believes in them. They are just now starting to turn heads, and they show no signs of slowing down.

Rose said it best after the victory over the Heat when he was asked if it felt like it was a 1 on 1 battle with all of the big 3 in Miami. Rose showed that million dollar smile of his, and simply replied with, “This was never a 1 on 1 thing. This was always a team thing..I think that we’re an alright team, we can play man.” Rose could not have said it any better, and that is why the Bulls are one of the best, if not the best overall team in the NBA.
