The last time the Lakers played the Heat it was another Christmas Day embarrassment.
The Lakers went into its annual winter hibernation, while the Heat, after a slow start to the season seemed to hit their stride.
But that was December.
Who you are in December does not matter in March. And it surely does not matter in May and June.
Since the All-Star break the Lakers have turned the proverbial switch “on”, while the Heat can’t find the switch in the dark.
Bynum is beast right now. I foresee a 12 and 16 night for him tonight. And the Heat have no one on the roster who can deal with him.
The game in December was too fast paced and free-stylin’ than the Lakers prefer. Expect a more half-court, dare I say playoff paced game which suits the Lakers style more.
The Heat are tough if they are allowed to get into a transition offensively. The Lakers won’t let that happen.
Not tonight. Not with everyone watching. And not with the level of commitment they have shown defensively since the break.
Expect the Heat to stay cool tonight and the Lakers showing everyone that the path to title still comes through Chick Hearn Court and Figueroa.
