The Missouri Tigers were eliminated from the Big 12 tournament after a 86-71 defeat to Texas A&M on Thursday night.
The Aggies set the tone early with a 14-4 run to begin the quarterfinal tilt. Forward David Loubeau and B.J. Holmes scored 31 of the Aggies 46 first half points to give A&M a 13 point lead into halftime. Loubeau and Holmes led the Aggies in scoring with 20 points apiece. In the second half the Tigers were unable to mount a comeback.
The Tigers were led in scoring by Kansas City natvie Marcus Denmon who scored 22 points. The Tigers shot 34% from the field, while the Aggies made 58% of their field goal attempts.
The Tigers now wait until Sunday to find out their NCAA tournament assignment. They are expected to be a No. 8 or No. 9 seed. Texas A&M moves on to play Texas in the semi-finals. In the other Big 12 tournament semi-final, Kansas hooks up with Colorado. Both semi-finals will be played Friday, and the championship will be played Saturday.
