By now, you’ve either seen the “Fab Five” documentary on ESPN or you’ve heard the comments made by Jalen Rose about Duke’s players being “Uncle Toms.” It has ignited one conversation to the next including follow-up comments by Rose on ESPN’s morning sports variety show, First Take. I was going to write a column discussing it, but Washington Post columnist Jason Reid possibly stated it best in his article about the subject. I just believe Rose commits a huge disservice to race relations when he wrongly describes the Duke players as “Uncle Toms.”
