Not many games could you call perfect, and if this one wasn’t perfect it was darn close. We’ll settle for calling it a complete game though.
The Stars out played the Hawks from the drop of the puck and never let up. They out shot the Hawks 27-23, they out hit them, they out playd them, pretty much out everythinged the Hawks.
The Stars opened the scoring late in the first as Brad Richards fired a nice backhand pass out of the zone up the middle of the ice to spring Steve Ott on a breakaway and never looked back.
Jamie Benn extended his point streak to nine games with his 21st goal of the season and also added an assist. He has eight goals and five assists in that span. He, Morrow and Ribeiro hooked up for two quick goals in the second, one at 1:01 and the next at 3:35 to make it 3-0.
Marty Turco would replace Corey Crawford after Morrow made it 3-0. Crawford stopped seven of the Stars first ten shots.
Jason Williams made it 4-0 just shy of three minutes into the third as Marty Turco attempted one of his patented breakout passes. Unfortunately for him it was intercepted by Williams who fired it into the open net. for his second as a Star.
Brandon Segal, filling in for Loui Eriksson who’s day-to-day after that shot he took from Douglas Miller against the Sharks on Tuesday, scored the final goal of the evening for the Stars to cap off a big 5-0 victory.
Kari Lehtonen hasn’t had on shutout with the Stars up until the current home stand and now he had two in the last four games. He stopped all 23 the Hawks fired his way. The defense did the rest. As a unit they were brilliant.
The Stars did everything right tonight and hope to continue that on Saturday night at home vs a struggling Flyers team who’s slowly losing their grip on top spot in the Eastern conference.

Ive been a fan since I was a young kid going back to the mid 80's. Favourite Stars player of all-time is of course Mike Modano. Favourite non-Stars player of all-time is Peter Stastny.
