The Utah Jazz are suffering right now, not only did they just lose this game to the Rockets but they gave up their place in what was the 9th playoff spot. The Rockets are now just 1.5 games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the 8th and final playoff spot. Lowry led the Rockets to a 110-108 victory over the Utah Jazz, the Rockets jumped out to a fast start outscoring the Jazz 30-19 in the first quarter. Utah as always, was up to the challenge and rallied to make this a very close game. Utah was led by Paul Milsap who played in his first game after missing the last five. Milsap played 39 minutes, scored 35 points, grabbed 10 boards, blocked 3 shots, and had 4 assists. Kyle Lowry’s triple-double consisted of 28 points, 11 boards, 10 dimes, and 3 steals. Utah’s starting 5 all scored in double digits, where as the Rockets were carried mostly by their back-court. Lowry and Kevin Martin combined to score 62 points, rookie Patrick Patterson was the only Houston Big to score in double-figures(14pts) Al Jefferson had a big game as well for the Jazz, Big Al scored 17 points and grabbed 19 rebounds!! Jefferson had a rough time from the field though, he only hit 7 of his 23 attempts. Utah is now 5-10 since the coaching change, they have now lost 8 of their last 10 road games. The Jazz didn’t get a great contribution from their bench, Derek Favors led the 2nd unit with 8 points. Utah gets a chance to catch up to the Rockets because they play the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night. As bad as things have been this season, the Jazz are still in the hunt!! All they need is to cut down on some of the little mistakes and tighten up defensively, there’s still hope of getting that 8th and FINAL Playoff Spot!!
