It’s no doubt that the NCAA tournament is currently stealing the NBA’s spotlight! Although the NCAA may be borrowing the spotlight temporarily; the NBA ends up borrowing all the stars from the tournament anyways, so…in the end, the NBA is “winning”! At least they won with Blake “Shake and Bake” Griffin in the league this year… that’s for sure!
Unlike the NBA, where the art of the game leads to the much anticipated final to crown the much deserved champion, the foundation of the NCAA tourney lays in the first few rounds. The one and done suspense makes each game electric. Every game is like Game 7. The energy and all of the buzzing throughout the crowd each game, is supernatural…absolutely out of this world! I love the school bands, the screaming, the rush, the passion and all the madness. The amassed excitement inspires the young players to tear up the court…and here you would think the million dollar cheques would inspire the NBA players to do the same each regular season game as well, but I guess without their school bands to back them up, they can’t perform as effectively each game.
NOTE to the NBA…BRING ON the school bands!!! It’s just a suggestion, but the NBA could give us live bands at more games; throw us some BOOM, BOOM… POW once in a while! The NBA needs a way to spice it up and loosen up the lame “so called” fans in the VIP sections. The NCAA has mastered that, so the NBA should follow in their footsteps with respect to the entertainment aspect… last time I checked, trying new things never hurt anyone! Let’s not get it twisted; I am only saying the NBA needs to take notes on the entertainment aspect, other than that, the NBA is getting it done!
The unpredictability of the NCAA tournament is undeniably a thrilling ride, but the one and done concept isn’t necessarily the best way to truly determine the best team. There is nothing better than a best of 7 game series. The focus, the slickness, the proficiency and abhor built up between the teams is how it is done. At the end of four exhausting rounds, you know the team that comes out on top, is beyond doubt, the best in the NBA. On that note, I still want to see some Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Drake performing at some NBA games soon!

Mel,
I can just picture you “shaking it” and “playing your flute” at a Raptors game. . . lol Just that thought would definitely get my ass off the couch into the seats of the ACC for a game.
So I totally agree with what you are saying.
Nicko,
p.s let us all know when you’ll be “flute playing” for the first time at a Raptors game and we’ll all bring out our pom-poms cheering you on . . .wooooohooooooo
