Do you know what the difference is between the Lakers and the Spurs? The Lakers and the Heat? The Lakers and the Magic?
Performance in crunch time.
Sure the Heat had one fortunate performance against the Lakers recently, but when you look at the whole resume and not just the 15th bullet point on it, the Lakers take care of business in the final minutes of a game.
That is what happened last night. The Lakers, behind for a most of the game, took command when they needed to and Portland could not match the Lakers intensity.
Now that the Lakers sit 2nd in the Western Conference standings, I’d expect to the see the Lakers close out the season strong to solidify the 2 spot.
Meaning that the Lakers are looking a bottom half of the bracket that includes Dallas instead of Oklahoma City. Things are looking good for the Lakers to breeze into the Western Conference Finals.
