The quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League have been set, and the matchups are intriguing to say the least.
Real Madrid vs. Tottenham is a game that should be exciting to watch. There are so many players who are capable of providing that “wow” moment which will draw in the average soccer fan.
Tottenham took care of AC Milan 1-0 even without the “Welch Wizard” Gareth Bale in the first leg. The defense is the reason why they moved on, surprisingly.
Real Madrid beat Lyon 4-1 in their opening round.
Tottenham’s Rafael Van der Vaart “hoped this would happen,” when talking about the draw because he used to play for Real Madrid. Be careful of what you wish for, though.
Internazionale vs Schalke 04
Inter barely survived against Bayern Munich in the opening round. They lost the first leg 1-0 at home. They scored first at Munich, but gave up two in the first half. Munich had so many chances to put the game away but failed to do so. All the missed chances caught up with them and Inter stole the game on the road to win on aggregate 3-3.
Schalke 04 surprised some people when they handled Valencia so easily. They won the matchup 4-2.
Barcelona vs. Shakhtar Donetsk
After losing the first leg at Arsenal 2-1, Barcelona took the home leg 3-1. They recieved a scare from Arsenal but advanced on. They get an easier opponent in this round than the last, but Shakhtar is a team you can’t look over.
Shakhtar defeated Roma 6-2. They not only scored three goals at home, but three goals in Italy. Luiz Adriano and Willian have played great for this club.
Chelsea vs. Manchester United
This is by far the best matchup in the quarter-finals.
Chelsea defeated Kobenhavn 2-0 in their opening round matchup. They were shut out at home against Kobenhavn, which is surprising for a team that was clearly the more dominant side.
Manchester United defeated Marseille 2-1. They rarely lose at Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson knows how to get it done from behind the bench.
Real Madrid over Tottenham 4-3
Inter over Schalke 04 5-3
Barcelona over Shakhtar Donetsk 5-1
Manchester United over Chelsea 2-2 Aggregate
