Let me share some stats with you regarding the current Laker skid.
After completing a stretch of 17 wins and 1 loss, the Lakers have now lost 3 games in a row and will not be the 1 seed in the Western Conference.
Kobe Bryant is 26 of 65 from the field (40%).
The Lakers are a dreadful 13 of 57 (23%) from three point land in these last three losses.
The Lakers have also turned the ball over a staggering 54 times during the streak.
Laker bench +/- during the three game span: -20 vs. Denver, -19 vs. Utah and a horrific -38 vs Golden State last night.
What does this all mean?????
It means the championship run is over. We all know that three games versus Denver, Utah and Golden State means the Lakers won’t win the title.
But didn’t the Lakers end the regular season last year 4-7?
They sure did.
Didn’t they lose to NBA powerhouses such as the Clippers, Atlanta and New Orleans (sans Chris Paul)? Yes they did.
But didn’t they win the championship last year?
Any Laker fan who buys into the doomsday scenario that is pushed on talk radio is as gullable as he or she is stupid.
I’ll let you know when to hit the panic button.
June is closer than you think. And that is all that matters.
