The NBA Playoffs are finally here and the Heat appear to be in the best shape they have been in all season.  With the field set, Coach Eric Spoelstra was able to rest his players on Wednesday night in Toronto and they came away with a win anyway.  Miami will play game one against Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon , in what most experts think is a lopsided series, but the Heat need to be focused.  The Sixers are a very young, athletic team that has an excellent coach in Doug Collins.  That coach will emphasize to his team that game one is often an opportunity to steal one on the road.  DWade and the boys will also have to remember that while they swept the season series 3-0, Philly was up big at times and the Heat needed to make big runs to win.  That being said, I don’t expect Miami to lose focus or more than one game in the series.  LeBron and Bosh coming to South Beach some pretty huge expectations.  The team had some growing pains at points during the season, but with the exception of Udonis Haslem, seems to be healthy and playing their best ball right now.  In addition, the Heat have been getting better contributions from some of their more recent additions like Mike Bibby and Eric Dampier.

This series should be a good starting point for the Heat.  Philadelphia might win one game at home, but Miami is simply a much better team that happens to playing at a high level.  Fans in South Florida are expecting a trip to the NBA Finals, but that is a long way away, with plenty of good teams lined up in front of them.  Lets see how this team looks in round one first.
