The Spurs didn’t finish the season like they would’ve liked to but we’re still the #1 seed with home court through the western conference finals. If anyone has questions about the spurs depth remember that the guys on the bench were the ones that made Kobe lose his cool and get fined 100k.
So the Spurs get Memphis. It’s th dream match-up but it could’ve been worse.
Obvious problems, rebounding, defense in the low post.
For Memphis their main problem is the fact they haven’t won a 7 game series ever. No experience. The Grizzlies are hungry and grity but it all changes in a 7 game series. Mental toughness is huge. The Spurs have that. Don’t forget the fact we have the best coaches in the game. Adjustments will be made, so the problems we had in the REGULAR SEASON will not be as bad in the PLAYOFFS.
Memphis could get one game maybe two but they can’t hang for an entire series, not yet. The Spurs have a fight on their hands for sure but this is what they’ve been waiting for, people have forgotten what the Spurs are like when the starters play harder than did and for longer than did before the playoffs. The Spurs are a different animal. Have fun dealing with Manu, Timmy and TP9 for 40 plus minutes.
It’s gonna be a good series. The games are going to be hard nosed and physical. Real playoff battles.
Spurs in 5or6. It’s going to be tough, fun and at times hard to watch but this is first step towards the goal they set at the beginning of the year. This is what they’ve been waiting for. All the work, all the changes going back to last year, the games given away were all for this.
It’s Playoff time.
