Not a Horrible start

It’s not great either but considering the start the Astros had last season there is some good improvement. Offensive numbers aren’t bad but consistent pitching is a problem. Myers is pitching like he wants to win the CY Young award, then you have Wandy who can’t win. Lyon seems to be over the early rough start with 3 saves thus far. Most of the losses haven’t been blow outs. The Astros have had a chance to win a lot more games than what they have. Pitching is letting them down in most games but overall the whole team is playing pretty good baseball. The Padres are a good team and the Astros could have won that series.
Angel Sanchez has been near lights out this season, not just with his glove but his bat leading the team with a .302 batting average and tied for the team lead in home runs with 1. It’s not a good thing if no one has more than 1 home run but small ball isn’t a bad way to play with all the speed this team has. At least until Lee and Johnson start blasting long balls.
The Astros start a three game series at the Mets tonight.
The Mets have had a rougher start than the Astros considering their talent level. Pitching has been their problem too so I’d like to see the Astros play more small ball and get to their starters early and give our pitchers a cushion to pitch deeper into the games. Again, if they play hard the Astros will have a chance to win some games.
