Heat Don’t Sweep, Celtics Wait

Are Miami fans nervous yet?  Not because the 76ers beat the Heat on Sunday.  No.  The question is more about how good Boston has looked the last two games.  Rajon Rondo has played on another level and Kevin Garnett looks like he’s 25 instead of 225.  The Celtics swept the Knicks in four games after it looked like New York was going to give Boston a competitive series.  Unfortunately, without Chauncey Billups and Amare Stoudamire, the Knicks just didn’t have the horses to keep up with the Celtics.  Carmelo Anthony put up huge numbers, but that didn’t translate to a Knicks win, so now Boston’s sweep coupled with Miami’s loss in Philadelphia, means that it is the Celtics who will be awaiting the Heat and not vice versa.

The biggest issue for Miami was not bench play, but actually a total disappearance by the starters not named Bosh, James, or Wade.  Mike Bibby and Zydrunas Ilkauskas combined for 1 point, 1 assist, and 5 rebounds while shooting a robust 0-9 from the floor.  LeBron led all scorers with 31 points and Dwyane had 5 blocks.  FIVE.  Miami has to get more production out of players outside of the”tres grande”, but that is nothing new.  All season it has been a case of the Heat will only go as far as the “big 3″  can take them.  While that may be true, Miami still needs a little production from the rest of the team.  Worry not Heat fans, Miami will win by at least 20 points on Wednesday night.  Then comes the real deal.  The Boston Celtics.
