I am at work today and I get the news that the 49ers drafted Aldon Smith, a Defensive End out of Missouri. Now did the 49ers need help on their offensive line? Yes, however the problem with this pick further solidifies Alex Smith returning as a 49er next year. Now I can not believe the 49ers are bringing him back for a seventh year. He is 19-31 as a starting quarterback and has never dominated a game when it has mattered most for the 49ers. Look Aaron Rodgers, the local kid from Chico out of UC Berkeley, has already won a Superbowl. Now this draft pick confirms Alex “small hands” Smith will be returning as our starting quarterback. The fact is Blaine Gabbert was available, but the 49ers just cannot seem to move on from Alex Smith. It pains me to see the 49ers season next year already go to waste. They could have developed Gabbert throughout the year and bring him in later since Alex would have failed, but they did not even give themselves an option. So 49er fans prepare for another difficult year because next season is already over.

I am a huge San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and an even bigger Los Angeles Lakers fan. For all three of these teams I have a passion to deliver what the hardcore fan craves, as long as the casual fan. I am hear to critically analyze each and every play for the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. Although I am a Laker fan I do not write for Los Angeles but it does not mean I won't drop a comment about them either.
