Dolphins Draft Mike Pouncey with 15th pick in NFL Draft

With the 15th pick in the NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins have selected Florida G/C Mike Pouncey.

The 6’5″ 303 pounder is a beast and will no doubt be an immediate starter at G. Richie Incognito will most likely play center.

While many teams wanted Pouncey, nobody moved up to get him. The pick is the predictable safe pick for the regime. If they don’t pull the trigger tomorrow and trade for a second rounder (hopefully to be used on Ryan Mallett, if he’s still available), the offense will continue to lack playmakers who weigh under 300 pounds.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Pouncey. This team just needs to start taking risks. Otherwise we’re looking at another .500 season. I was really hoping for a trade up for Gabbert (don’t know WHAT Jacksonville is thinking, though).

More tomorrow…here’s hoping, Phins fans.
